Works that work
Founded by Peter Bilak in 2013, Works That Work magazine wants to examine often ignored areas of design, and aims to show that creativity is all around us, if you just know where to look. In the spirit of this aim, the magazine's printed edition bypasses traditional distribution networks by a unique system they call social distribution, making readers partners in this enterprise. It's third issue is launched this month in London, Tromso, Paris and New York.
Bilak and Miltenburg scout the world for stories: from inventions as deceptively simple as the shipping container, which made our global economy possible, to the complex world of intercultural communication through kikwpoint guides used by American soldiers in Afghanistan. In preparation for the next issue, focusing on life in extreme conditions, WTW is going to Tromsø for its first on-location content scouting.
